Cyanotype Workshop Series
On November 24, 2024, Oyáte Studio partnered up with Four Bands Community Fund as well as @pejutapress to make a cyanotype workshop for the youth. The idea for the workshop was to show the youth hands-on learning experience in the cyanotype process while also getting lessons in financial literacy which is aimed to empower entrepreneurship. we heavily appreciate having the opportunity to work with Peyuta Press in this workshop as well as future workshops to come.
Cyanotype printing is the oldest photographic printing process. Also known as a sun print, it is a monochromatic print which is formed by placing an image or object on a prepared light sensitive surface, exposed to the sun, developed and then washed out to create a blue image.
It truly was an experience to work with cyanotype not only for the students but as well as the fellow employees of Oyáte Studio. Seeing the actual process of cyanotype truly was fun and engaging! This workshop gave students a new type of art media and techniques to work with and learn from. Down to learning to sell and the costs of anything, @four.bands taught the students a little insight on business planning.
